My Art is Mine

This evening as I was cleaning up after dinner I half way noticed that Afton was very intensely working on something. (Like every two year old is most of the day) I ran up stairs quickly to put something away and I come down stairs and Afton and her daddy were sitting on these two stools looking at these two pictures. Afton had placed her two pieces of "art" (her words) right at her eye level, bought two stools over in front of them, brought her dad over and said "come in" and proceed to show him her art. When we asked her about her art she would say, "My art is mine". And that is it. I have no idea where she came up with all of this, but she was very excited to show us.

We're Bringing Sexy Back! (Again)

(Last years costume)
I think this year's costumes might just be sexier than last years costumes. Maybe it is a tie. What do you think?

(Yes my costume is padded in the belly. I am not that big yet. )

Halter Top

I am still laughing about this. (I am sure you are too mom)

Kent and I just got back from his work's annual cruise. (We went to the Bahamas. It was fabulous, but that will be another post.) We left Afton with my parents in AZ. When we got back we were talking to my mother about different things on the cruise, and the topic of the dancers on the boat came up. I was telling her about how Kent commented during the show on how ,to his surprise, one of the costumes was actually tasteful. So I began describing their costume.

Me (to my mom) : "They had dresses that went to right above the knee, and the top was a halter." Kent stops me right away to say, "They were all one piece Kate". Me: "I know I said they were a halter top dress." Kent: "But they didn't show any of their stomach". Me: "I know, they were halter tops. The straps go around the neck instead of straight over the shoulders". Kent:"doesn't a halter top mean that the top halts right here" (leaning back in his chair and pointing to his midsection). Me: "Are you serious?" My mom is having hysterical laughing fits in the back ground. Kent: "I thought that was why it was called a halter, because it halts part way down the stomach."

The typical American Family

(If you ignore the fact that am actually Canadian) the Griffith family will soon be your typical American family. Why? you might ask. Or maybe you can guess. In May the Griffiths will be a family of four. We know that it is a little early to announce anything, but we are too excited and can't wait anymore. Yeah for baby number two!

Answer

The answer to this question is in fact dish soap. Thank you ladies for your help! But there is one more key. It must be Dawn dish soap. I guess it guts grease a little better than the rest. It came out as clean and super fine as normal.

Does Anybody Know ...

how to get Vick's vapor rub out of hair? Today Afton was having a wonderful "nap". When I went to get her out of her room it turns out that she wasn't sleeping. She had quietly covered herself in Vick's vapor rub. Along with a lot of her bed room. The area that was covered the most was her hair. I immediately but her in the tub and I have washed her hair six times! Her hair does look better but it is still very greasy. I am at a loss.

It is always a fight

This is what happens at nap time in our house. Afton cries, complains and pulls her legs up by her face. She does this, as you can probably guess, so she can dramatically kick off her blankets with both legs. Do your kids do this?
